In a Japan where more than one person in four is elderly, the programme looks at care and welfare as they stand today and asks how the country moves forward.
The theme of episode two is joy and excitement. This time the students spend a day with a visiting hairdressing service — hairdressers who bring their work to hospitals and care homes. On the ground they find service after service shaped around one aim: making the people who use it happy.
